Sheet molding compound (SMC)

 

SMC is composed of unsaturated polyester resin, low shrinkage additive, special chopped glass fiber, filler, thickener and various additives. It is a new type of environmental protection composite material. SMC production is a continuous on-line production process. The resin paste between the two layers of bearing film is fully impregnated with chopped glass fiber to prepare SMC sheet. SMC sheet can be used after it is cured and thickened to be non stick. The cured SMC sheet is flow filled at a certain temperature and pressure and heat cured to form molded products.
